TFT Ranked FAQ 2021

TFT Ranked FAQ 2021

Do not betray your adorable looks. Those small giants are set to compete on the big stage. Rank is coming in teamfight tactics! TFT has a load of depth, so we want to make sure you feel that mastering the game is a worthwhile adventure.

While Summoners Rift will have some similarities, we really wanted to highlight the unique style in TFT. Think more social, ask a little less, and get a healthy dose of opportunity. You will still have the same levels and divisions, and will gain or lose LPs depending on how well you did.

Even with some major differences, we want to make sure that your ranked TFT matches are just as satisfying as your time at Sumoners Rift, so head down to the Moleadiver Hole, and master the teamfight knowledge!

Basics

What are the requirements for TFT rank?

No one at this time! You can rank with the bat at level 1.

What are available?

Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, as well as Master, Grandmaster and Challenger (like LOL!).

When will Master, Grandmaster and Challenger tiers be available?

  • At the beginning of the season, only the master will be unlocked. Grandmaster will unlock one week later in patch 9.14, and two weeks later in Challenger patch 9.15!

Can I rank in a party with friends?

  • Yes, but there are some restrictions! Friendship is power, but we do not want it to be everything.
  • If a player is of Platinum or above, you can only party 3 queues simultaneously.
  • If everyone is gold or lower, you can only participate in a queue of 5 friends together.

Do TFT ranked games count towards split points?

  • No. TFT does not affect split points

TFT Rank Award

Will there be prizes? What are they ?!

  • Absolutely! We are going to give some pretty awesome prizes. Only problem is … we haven't decided what they are doing yet! but do not worry. You must have known when we have decided. ;)

What do I have to do to qualify for the awards?

  • We are still working on that one too! We want the award to be a true representation of all your hard work!

Will my honor affect my ranked awards?

  • At the moment, TFT does not interact with the honor system, so your honor level should not keep you from getting the award. However, the rank system is constantly evolving, so this may change. If that happens, we will let you know.

What can affect my reward eligibility?

  • We know that we do not need to tell you this, but cheating is not an absolute. Like, if you get a cheat-based penalty … then you guessed it! No prizes!

How transfers affect rank

What happens to my rank when I transfer?

  • Your MMR will transfer over, but you'll keep this in mind: Because MMR is not the same on all servers, the players' skill level in the new server may be different from what you did before.
  • Every time you transfer your account, you will need to play your 5 placement games - even if it is on the server you previously placed!
  • Keep in mind that you can place the highest Bronze I on a new server.

What happens to my rewards when I transfer?

  • Once your ranked rewards are added to your list, they will be transferred along with you.

Seasoned

How long will a season with TFT rank last?

  • Teamfight Tactics is about discovery. A single match can change rapidly from one turn to another, and we want that to reflect the ranked season. To honor this, we are open to making major changes between seasons for Summoner's Rift.
  • The goal right now is to start a new season of TFT every few months, so there may be three to four sessions of TFT every year.
  • TFT is our child, so we have raised him. This means that these times are completely subject to change! We want TFT and what's best for you!

Split and queued queue

What do I need to know about queuing up with friends (party)?

  • Wow! More friendship! But some similar rules still apply. If a player is of Platinum or above, you can only party 3 queues simultaneously.
  • Oh, is that so! do not forget! If everyone is gold or lower, you can party up to 5 friends together.
  • Here's a look at those queue boundaries (and in full color, no less):

Placements, Promotions & Series

Wondering about placements?

  • Once you play your first TFT ranked game, you can be provisionally ranked anywhere from Iron I to Iron III, depending on how the first game went. will you do
  • There are a total of 5 placement matches. After the 5th match you will make a place in a league.
  • Provisional matches act in the same way as LLL ranks, not with quick LP values and LP loss, so if you're an old hat in the league, it should be a sin to master.
  • Psst. By the way, you can get up to 100 LP per provisional match!

Curious about promotions and series?

  • There are no promo series in TFT. Once you hit 100 LP you will automatically boost the next split with the remaining LP. (Example - an Iron II 90 LP player wins a game and gets 30 LP which will boost Iron 20 LP.)

Demotion and decay

  • You (probably) ever wanted to know about Deke
  • Decay only applies to Diamond and above.
  • In Diamond, you lose 50 LP after 30 days of inactivity, followed by -50 LP every seven days.
  • In Master and above, you bank up to 10 games each day with 1 banked game removed. keep in mind! If you don't have a banked game to lose, you lose 250 LP every day.
  • Conscious! There is no loss in provisional matches! Neet

Let's know:

  • You can only demonetise if you lose while staying at 0 LP.
  • Because there is no promo series, TFT also does not have any game-based demotion building. (Ie when you first promote you will not "get 3 games of Demotion Protection").
  • Demoting for a lower division or tier occurs when your MMR is too low for your current ranking, and you are at 0 LP.
